WatchGuard Releases Critical Firebox Security Updates
WatchGuard has released new Firebox firmware updates addressing multiple critical security vulnerabilities. Customers are urged to upgrade their appliances as soon as possible.
The updates, available from 27 August 2026, include:
- Fireware 2026.2.2
- Fireware v12.12.2
- Fireware v12.5.20
WatchGuard says the vulnerabilities have not been exploited, but recommends customers upgrade to the latest available firmware to maintain protection.
Several of the vulnerabilities were identified using WatchGuard's proactive security research, including the use of frontier AI models to strengthen vulnerability discovery. A total of 11 CVEs have been reserved for the issues, including CVE-2026-13086 and CVE-2026-19313 through CVE-2026-19318, alongside CVE-2026-78008 through CVE-2026-78011.
What should customers do?
Firebox customers should review their appliances and upgrade to the appropriate firmware version as soon as possible.
