Some of the report’s top findings include:

  • Scripting attacks account for 68% of all malware hits
  • Overall malware numbers increased by a significant margin
  • Authentication continues to be a major target for hackers
  • Legacy antivirus solutions only missed 24% of new malware (improved from 47% in Q2)
  • Suspicious HTML iframes show up in a big way
  • WatchGuard’s GAV and APT Blocker blocked over 22 million malware variants and almost 3 million network attacks
